Tatia Gibbons

Tatia Gibbons, an attorney for Cook County, began caring for children around the world by sponsoring a child through World Vision. Then, as she began to learn more she looked for new ways to be engaged. Tatia traveled to Africa and returned with a passion to help women. She speaks at local gatherings to promote micro-loan programs, which give small low-interest loans to women in developing countries who want to start small businesses. She is also raising funds to support a World Vision program that feeds 75 orphans and vulnerable children each day in Soweto, South Africa. “In a world of so much excess,” says Tatia, “more needs to be done to correct the unlevel playing field that exists between the developed and developing world.”
