| | PakistanReaching children and families in need
World Vision is responding to those in need following a devastating 7.6-magnitude earthquake, described as the country's worst-ever, that struck in October 2005. Emergency supplies being rushed to the region include tents, blankets, water containers, food and medicines.
World Vision began work in Pakistan in the 1980s. Our programs have expanded in the past three years, particularly in the Northwest Frontier Province, where we have worked to help communities recover from a previous earthquake, as well as floods, severe snowstorms, and landslides. In addition, World Vision has rehabilitated 100 schools and 25 health clinics, as well as working to address chronic poverty in the area. | |
