Nepal
NOTE: World Vision’s United States office is not currently funding projects in Nepal.

World Vision has been actively supporting development initiatives in Nepal since 1982. Much of the early assistance was directed to local development groups that worked to improve hospital care and with refugees from Bhutan. World Vision also partnered with other non-governmental organizations to assist victims of the 1988 earthquake and the 1993 flooding in Nepal.

World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) officially opened its office in Katmandu in 2001 as a way to empower and strengthen local NGOs through capacity building, resource mobilization, and other related interventions. World Vision’s Nepal office encourages partner NGOs to focus on development projects that directly benefit the community.
